Social Marketing Team

The mission of the Social Marketing Team is to inform the Frostburg State University campus community and create awareness about social activities, events and opportunities sponsored by the Department of Student & Community Involvement while providing leadership and experiential learning opportunities for FSU student employees and interns. And, to furthermore, encourage participation and bring unity among the students.

The Social Marketing Team is comprised of students who serve in the following areas:


The Social Media Coordinator follows a content management strategy to create informative posts online that engage students and the campus community. Follow our social media accounts: Instagram @frostburgstatelife


Each year Social Marketing Team’s student photographers capture over 26,000 photos of major student organization events. The best photos are highlighted in SpotlightOnline,  posted on Instagram @frostburgstatelife, Twitter @thesocialbobcat, Facebook and to Flickr at


Videographers capture student organization events, create short videos which are posted on YouTube. These videos are featured in SpotlightOnline, on our website and on social media. Follow our YouTube channel SMTatFSU.


Student graphic designers are  an integral part of marketing events to students and the campus community. Graphic designers are create posters, trash can inserts, digital signage, invitations, t-shirts and more utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.


Marketing students serving a 3-credit internship are hired to build, market and analyze Student and Community Involvement's weekly online electronic newsletter which serves the undergraduate population, faculty/staff and the campus community.


English, Business or Mass Communication students serving a 3-credit internship are hired to write a weekly article that will be published digitally on, in SpotlightOnline and linked to on social media. The best candidate will be self-motivated with excellent writing skills who is able to schedule interviews, develop interviews questions and compose an article on a tight deadline on a weekly basis.
