VOLUNTEER

CES Volunteer Opportunities

ECHOSTARS / Rising STARS

ECHOSTARS is a first-year living-learning-serving experience for 65 students who commit to serving 300 hours of direct service with the opportunity to earn up to $1,212 in scholarships from the AmeriCorps program and Frostburg State University. Rising STARS is primarily a sophomore-based program with a focus on service, mentoring and academic engagement. Members serve 300 hours of direct service and earn $1,212. Read to Succeed Mentors

Read to Succeed is an A STAR! AmeriCorps Program serving the regional youth in grades K-8 for literacy. All mentors are trained and placed on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact the Office of Civic Engagement at 301.687.4210.

Student Government Association

SGA elections are held during mid-March. On- and off-campus positions are available on an ongoing basis. Contact Kathi Perkins at 301.687.4304 or kperkins@frostburg.edu for available openings.

University Programming Council

Federal Work-Study Employment

Opportunities may exist based upon Federal Work-Study eligibility. Students eligible for work-study who participate in Read to Succeed can earn much more! To find out if you are eligible for Federal work-study, visit the Financial Aid Office.

General Employment

CES offers employment and intern opportunities for Frostburg State University students. The CES Student Production Team works hard behind the scenes and plays an integral role in bringing each series event to life. CES employment is a great addition to any student’s resumé. The Lane University Center hires student staff during the fall and spring semesters.
