MARYLAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12 ~ 8:00PM
PEALER RECITAL HALL, PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Under the exuberant baton of music director and conductor Elizabeth Schulze, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra presents a concert in the true romantic style, featuring Smetanas Bartered Bride Overture and the deeply emotional Symphony No. 7 by Dvorák. Twenty-year-old Chinese pianist Yuja Wang, a recipient of the prestigious 2006 Gilmore Young Artist Award, provides the centerpiece of this program, performing the Piano Concerto No. 1 by Tchaikovsky. Ms. Wangs virtuosity and poise have critics raving; her January 2008 Kennedy Center appearance has already sold out. Book your tickets now to see this rising star!
