The
Loft
The Loft is open for general use during regular operating hours of the
Lane University Center. Special hours may be requested for an extended
hours fee. You may also contact Sodexho Catering catering for your special
function needs beyond regular Coffee Bar hours and services. The Loft
is an exciting addition to the facilities and services currently offered
in the Lane University Center. In an effort to remain true to the original
purpose of this space, one in which students, faculty and staff can
all socialize, meet and relax, we have developed a set of simple guidelines
to keep in mind when requesting use of The Loft.
"Reservable
space" is defined as the areas of the dance floor and stage, with other
designated small areas available for limited types of events. Please
see attached diagram as a reference.
Furniture on the carpeted areas may not be moved or reconfigured.
As
The Loft is a public space, it can not be closed off entirely for a
private event or program during regular business hours. The TV Lounge
and Study Lounge are the designated common areas.
Reservable
spaces may be used "as is" (cafÚ-style tables), theater-style (for up
to 50) or cleared (open space for dance floor or display tables in the
round).
Days

you wish to discuss which of the Lane University Center venues will
best accommodate your needs, please call the Lane University Center
Reservations Office at (301) 687-4151. Questions related specifically
to The Loft may be directed to the Director of Lane University Center.
Additional Information
Building hours extension: $10.00 per hour; additional
$5.50 per hour for extended Game Room operation. Extension allowed up
until 2:30 a.m.
Expanded
building set-ups: $5.50 per hour for set-ups outside the basic
schedule of services.
The above
set-ups are available at no charge to all users. Any additions/changes
or alternate configurations are subject to the approval of the Director
of Lane University Center and may involve additional charges. Basic
AV equipment (overhead, slide projector, TV/VCR) is available at no
charge, however, if you require an operator there will be a service
charge. We can answer any questions about charges when you know your
specific needs. Please note that equipment is limited; therefore we
encourage early reservations.
When reserving Room 201, 202, and the ARMAH, the reservation will be
considered tentative until a reservation/set-up form is completed. If
a form is not completed 10 working days in advance of the event, your
reservation is subject to cancellation. If the reservation is made less
than 10 days in advance the form must be completed with 24 hours. Reservation
requests made less than 48 hours in advance of the event require the
approval of the Director. If you cancel your program, you must notify
the Reservations Office no less than 3 working days in advance or a
cancellation charge of $35.00 may be required. The charge can be waived
by the Director of the Lane University Center if just cause is given.
Any outstanding charge due to the Lane University Center will prohibit
that organization from further use of University facilities.
